The Little Red Bard: Shakespeare
This is a research project led by Professor Hannes Rall.
Working with ADM Alumni and students, I did the in-between animations and coloring in TVPaint for scenes including those shown in the video above.
"Little Red Bard: Shakespeare examines the research and creative process of creating a short animated documentary about the relevance of Shakespeare for digital natives in Singapore. The film mixes animation and live action interviews in various forms to tell its story.
The project offers new insights in three ways: First, by uncovering new facts about Shakespeare perception in Singapore. Secondly, by closely examining the specific role of animated layers in the context of adding, enhancing and altering the recorded live action footage for the emerging documentary. Thirdly, by proposing a taxonomy for the animated strategies used."

Grape: An Animated Short Film (Work in Progress)
Grape: An Animated Short Film is a tribute to the heart wrenching true story of a Humboldt Penguin named Grape-kun in Tobu Zoo, Japan. My partner-in-crime Jessabel Teng and I are currently working on this project with the use of Blender 2.8's Grease Pencil, a new 2D Animation tool that works in 3D space.
In this project, I worked on the 3D assets and environment building, and the 2D animation for the latter half of the short film. I also created the character designs for the penguin girl character, Hululu.
(Visual Development and Concept work can be accessed via: https://diaki.weebly.com/game--visual-development.html)
NOTE: This project is still a work in progress.
